The 24th IAPRI World Packaging Conference, to be held from 17 to 21 June in Valencia, Spain, has unveiled its full programme featuring 173 papers international experts from companies and research centres spanning 32 countries. The conference, organized by ITENE research centre, will gather representatives from the entire packaging value chain to discuss the latest trends in materials, sustainability, design, technology, and machinery.
In addition, the opening ceremony on 18 June will feature keynote speakers Mattia Pellegrini, Head of Unit "From Waste to Resources" at the European Commission, and Remigio Marano, Official Food Contact Materials Scientist at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
The 24th edition of the IAPRI World Conference will bring together representatives of the entire packaging value chain from leading international organisations such as Dow Chemical, Nestlé, UBE Corporation, Ioniqa, Grupo Lantero, Persán, Polinivo, Capsa, Cadel Recycling Lab, Metsä, PTT MCC Biochem, Cadel Recycling Lab, A. The research center ITENE has been chosen by the International Association of Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI) to host the IAPRI's World Packaging Conference in June 2024. The 24th edition of the scientific event is expected to be attended by more than 300 researchers and experts from the packaging sector with the aim of presenting and sharing the latest developments in the field of packaging.
The news has been communicated today through the IAPRI website by Edward A. Church , Secretary General of the association, after the celebration of the 23rd edition of this conference that took place from 12 to 16 June in Bangkok (Thailand).
ITENE will bring to this event 30 years of experience, since that same month of 2024 the research center will celebrate three decades of activity dedicated to generating scientific-technological knowledge to transfer it to companies through R&D&I projects, consultancy, testing, and training services.
In addition, ITENE already organized in 2015, at its headquarters in the Technology Park of Paterna (Valencia), the 27th IAPRI Packaging Symposium, a scientific congress only for members of this association, which gathered 120 researchers from 27 countries, who submitted 135 presentations.
In the case of the World Packaging Conference that ITENE will host in 2024, the event will be open to all scientists and attendees who want to get updated about all the news in this field. In this sense, the CEO and Managing Director of ITENE, Javier Zabaleta, has expressed that "the IAPRI World Packaging Conference will make Valencia the showcase for Spanish and international companies to know in situ the main advances of the R&D in packaging at the global level”.
The proposal sent by ITENE to IAPRI highlights the existing knowledge hub in Valencia, which hosts several centers and institutions dedicated to research, several organizations supporting technology transfer and scientific and technological dissemination, as well as a Technology Park made up of about 450 organizations and companies, where ITENE has its headquarters.
